It's your Birthday Brenda!

Happy Birthday Brenda!Saturday at Midnight was the official start to Brenda's birthday. (Aug 2nd.) She turned 24 (and so much more) And it was an absolutely amazing 42 hours. I know, a little longer than your average birthday but it was what it needed to be. This is so not part of Brenda's birthday celebration but it's how my Saturday night started. Dinner at Sayuri, the Japanese restaurant in town. It was redonkulously delicious. Above is the 'Large Assorted Tempura' The yam and the broccolli (sp?) were my favourites.Mango and smoked salmon sushi. I really liked the little ball things on top. I can't remember what they were called but Mmm. Veryy good. I sucked as far as chopsticks goes so I just used my hands. I want to go back again. I went home and crashed for a little while after dinner. Then headed over to Brendas' place and the night really got started. As soon as midnight hit, it was Birthday Mode. We drank, we smoked pot, we had quite the time. Chloe and Brenda at the bar.
This was my first attempt at the picture. Can you tell that I'd been drinking? After the bar Brenda and I totally had the drunkies so we hit up Lou Lou's for a pizza. The worker was deaf, we were drunk. Communication wasn't actually that difficult. This note says, "I can sell whole but I can't make your own." From deaf guy. "Pep & Bacon :) <3" From Brenda

Upon finishing the pizza and being asked what she'd like to do next Brenda announces that she would like to go to the beach. It's about 2:30am. The beaches are gated off. No biggie. We caught a cab (it was actually our good friend Craig) and got dropped off at the gate. 9 of us made our way to the beach, stripped naked and went swimming. Happy Birthday Brenda! It was fairly phenomenal.(sp?) This is the best picture I could manage with my phone. I rolled home around 6am, took a bit of a nap and was off to work for 8. Brenda worked at 7. PS I have a picture. But for some reason it wouldn't upload quite right. No biggie. I wasn't a very good one anyways. Sunday after work Nick, Brenda and I went to Horseshoe Lake to jump off of some cliffs. At this point, Brenda is going off of no sleep. I've got about an hour and a half under my belt and we're still goin' strong. We'd made the plans to go the night before and Nick said he'd be impressed if we actually made it there. This was Brenda's first time. She's the on the lower of the two cliffs (what we think is about 30ft) and Nick is holding the tree on the higher one. (40 ish feet) It took Brenda about an hour to finally get enough nerve to jump. But then she did it, twice! Nick didn't take the 40 footer on Sunday but he did it today! I was proud of both of them :) Neither are fans of heights or deep water, both of which are involved when cliff jumping at horseshoe. After the lake it was dinner and drinks time. Well deserved.
Then back to Brendas' for more drinks! (up for about 36 hours at this point) Brenda and Kati.Kati and Tim (I really truly believe that is his name but I'm not 100%. I was pretty sleepy when we were introduced)Moi. I was tired. And greasy. But so pumped to go out and dance. Also a little drunkBrenda is part of the couch surfing program. These are just two of the many she's had stay with her. They were German. We wanted them to come out with us but they were leaving in the morning for Banff. Brenda wore hott pink shoes. They were perfect.
The night ended for me at Lukes place where Brenda fell asleep in a tiny wicker chair.
This is a car that I saw on my walk home. It made me laugh pretty hard. It reminds me of something you'd see in a Need for Speed movie. Not a car you'd see parked on the road in Jasper"WHAT HEMI...?" oh please.

Today at Horseshoe Nick and I checked out the view from the 60/65ish foot jump. The thought of jumping off of it made me want to pee in my pants and hide in a corner. Just looking over the edge made my heart want to jump out of my chest. I was seriously scared. And I don't like that. One bit. Fuck you cliff. You do NOT have the power to make me feel this way. I'm a going to own you tomorrow afternoon. There's what I have planned for tomorrow. I'll let ya know how it goes. I won't do it if it's not sunny. Just sayin.

PS Brenda made it about 44 hours without any sleep. I managed about the same with 2 short naps thrown in there (which I am so incredibly thankful for)
