Pitch-In!

Yesterday Michal (the owner of Pine Bungalows(above with his dog Zach)) had all the employees go to the side of the highway and pick up garbage. It was all part of the Pitch-In program. He likes to run the hotel fairly green and I thought this was a great way to help out. He`s even won some awards for how environmental it is.

He thought it was a good idea to wear these disgutingly hot, orange plastic vests. They were a good idea in theory but made my back sweat. When everyone got back to the property Michal thought it would be fun to see what sort of "treasures" everyone brought back. And proceeded to dig through the bags of garbage. Ew.
There were lots of cans and bottles which we will recycle and get money for. We'll add it to the tip jar and then at the end of the season we all get to split whats in there. We're up to quite a bit already. I'm looking forward to the bonus. There was also a mitten.
